Weiser hosts last home swim meet of the season

 On July 21, the Weiser Dolphins hosted their last home swim meet versus Mountain Home and Parma. Weiser was able to participate in more events with more swimmers than all the previous meets. 
 First up for the day were the relays. In the mixed 8 and under 100 meter medley relay, Spencer Messick, Olivia Lattin, Maddy Capurro, and Miley Bumgarner finished second with a time of 2:17.15. 
 In the boys 11 and under 200 meter medley relay, Weiser finished with a time of 3:19.75 with swimmers, Max Lattin, Mikey Odette, Gage Walker, and Nathan Price. 
 The girls 12 and under 200 meter medley relay team also took first with a time of 2:49.97 with team members Krista Messick, Mattie Shirts, Evie Dolton, and Trinity Johnson. While Weiser’s second team of girls, Isabel Odette, Lillian Janicek, Mollie Price, and Madilyn Janicek took third place with a time of 4:06.93. 
 The boys 12 and over 200 meter medley relay team of Ezra Burkhart, Ben Hathorn, Luke Johnson, and Finn Dolton took second with a time of 2:32.25. 
 At the end of the day, Weiser finished first in the 8 and under 100 meter free relay, second in the boys 11 and under 200 meter free relay, first and third in the girls 12 and over 200 meter relay, and second in boys 12 and over 200 meter free relay. 
 In the individual events, Weiser saw top finishes and multiple personal records in each of the age divisions. 
 Starting with the youngest group of girls, age 8 and under, Maddy Capurro finished fifth in the 25-meter freestyle with a time of 40.41 and first in the 25-meter backstroke with a time of 31.00. 
 Miley Bumgarner finished third in the 25-meter freestyle and third (34.36) in the 25-meter backstroke. 
 Olivia Lattin finished second in the 25-meter backstroke with a time of 34.10 and third in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 1:25.48.
 In the girls 9-10 division, Evie Dolton took second in the 100-meter individual medley with a time of 1:56.65, first place in the 50-meter freestyle (42.84), first place in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 50.30, and second in the 100-meter freestyle (1:38.90). 
 Madilyn Janicek earned an eighth place finish in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 1:02.70 and finished seventh (1:09.01) in the 50-meter backstroke.
 In the girls 11-12 division, Isabel Odette finished sixth (1:43.59) in the 100-meter individual medley, third in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 39.09, fourth (51:30) in the 50-meter breaststroke, and fifth in the 100-meter free. 
 Mollie Price finished eighth (2:22.90) in the 100-meter individual medley, 10th (52.50) in the 50-meter freestyle, eighth (1:13.92) in the 50-meter breaststroke, and tenth (1:56.01) in the 100-meter free. 
 Lillian Janicek finished ninth (2:24.91) in the 100-meter individual medley, 11th (54.0) in the 50-meter freestyle, sixth (1:03.07) in the 50-meter backstroke, and 11th in the 100-meter free. 
 Krista Messick took fourth place in the 100-meter individual medley with a time of 1:38.47, fifth (39.56) in the 50-meter freestyle, second in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 46.72, and sixth in the 100-meter free. 
 Trinity Johnson earned a third place finish of 1:37.75 in the 100-meter individual medley, second with a time of 38.29 in the 50-meter freestyle, fourth in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 46.51, and third in the 100-meter free with a time of 1:28.62. 
 Gracie Young finished sixth (40.78) in the 50-meter freestyle, fifth in the 50-meter backstroke (53.59), and seventh (1:06.91) in the 50-meter breaststroke.
 For the girls 13-14 Mattie Shirts was second in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 34.19, second in the 100-meter breaststroke 1:37.30, and second in the 100-meter free with a time of 1:22.00. 
 Kate Yoon tied for third (35.69) in the 50-meter freestyle and finished fifth (2:12.72) in the 100-meter breaststroke. 
 Jasi Wallace placed first in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:35.62, third in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:41.87, and finished in first place in the 100-meter free with a time of 1:14.22. 
 For the girls 15 and up Abbey Shirts finished first in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 27.52, first in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:25.12, and first in the 100 meter free with a time of 1:03.41.
 For the youngest group of boys, ages 8 and under, Spencer Messick earned first place in the 25-meter freestyle, first place again in the 25-meter backstroke with a time of 23.72, and second in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 48.17. 
 Johnny Edwards took third in the 25-meter backstroke with a time of 32.35.
 For the boys 10 and under Max Lattin took first in the 100-meter individual medley with a time of 1:41.30, first in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 36.03, second in the 50-meter fly with a time of 53.71. and first in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 49.48. 
 Nathan Price finished sixth (2:17.59) in the 100-meter individual medley, ninth (49.44) in the 50-meter freestyle, and ninth (1:13.58) in the 50-meter breaststroke. 
 Mikey Odette took second place (1:54.56) in the 100-meter individual medley, sixth (44:00) in the 50-meter freestyle, first place in the 50-meter fly with a time of 53.00, and sixth (1:05.50) in the 50-meter breaststroke. 
 Gage Walker took third (1:54.66) in the 100-meter individual medley, third in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 41.00, third (55.00) in the 50-meter fly, and fourth (1:01.26) in the 50-meter breaststroke. 
 Brooks Bumgarner earned seventh (45.00) in the 50-meter freestyle and fifth (1:04.00) in the 50-meter breaststroke. 
 In the boys 11-12 division, Finn Dolton finished first in the 100-meter individual medley with a time of 1:31.57, first in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 33.56, first in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 44.06 and second in the 100-meter free with a time of 1:16.25. 
 In the boys 13-14 division Ben Hathorn took third in the 50-meter freestyle and third in the 100-meter free. 
 Ezra Burkhart finished fifth (35.59) in the 50-meter freestyle, second in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:32.53, and fifth (1:19.00) in the 100-meter free. 
 For boys, ages 15 and up, Luke Johnson earned second in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 27.92, second in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:15.97, and second in the 100-meter free with a time of 1:04.74. 
 With this being the second to last meet of the season it was great to see so many more swimmers participating. The Dolphins have a short season, but with improvement each meet in both team size and times, the dedication of the team to early morning practices has definitely paid off.
