Weiser High School student arrested for threatening principal

After school on Friday, Jan. 25, a student entered the high school office and asked the secretary to deliver a note to principal Dave Davies.

The note indicated that the student was unhappy with the principal and threatened to come to the high school and initiate a violent act against the principal. The student was not in possession of any  weapons, according to superintendent Wil Overgaard.

The high school administration detained the student before he could board his school bus and brought him to the office. The Weiser Police Department was called and dispatched an officer.

The student was arrested and charged with threatening violence upon school grounds. He is currently being held by law enforcement until his arraignment.

The student will be suspended pending the completion of the investigation.

Weiser City Police will have a presence at WHS this week while theinvestigation continues.

The suspect was scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. on Monday in Magistrate Court on one misdemeanor charge.
