Weiser Elks Lodge will honor veterans on Veterans Day, Nov. 11

Governor Brad Little signed a statewide public health order October 26 moving Idaho back into a modified Stage Three of the Idaho Rebounds plan as healthcare facilities throughout the state face alarming demand and capacity constraints due to increasing COVID-19 spread, according to a press release.
This move has led to several cancelations of events and celebrations around the area, including the Weiser High School’s annual Veterans Day program.
The high school program regularly is held on Veterans Day, is open to the public, and features the high school band and choir performing the ceremony.
Veterans Day, November 11, regularly hosts a number of celebrations, including a lunch hosted by the Weiser Community and Senior Center free for veterans, and a lunch hosted by the Elk Lodge also free for veterans.
This year, the Senior Center has decided to cancel their event while the Elks Lodge will still be hosting theirs, as of Tuesday.
The Weiser Elks Lodge will honor veterans and their spouses with a free lunch starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge located at 38 West Idaho St.
The Weiser Signal American has copies of the special edition  “The Spirit of ‘45” still available for free to help honor veterans.
