Weiser competes against 21 teams at Middleton Invitational

The Wolverine track teams traveled to Middleton on April 9. There were a total of 21 teams that competed.
 The top three girls teams were Melba in first with 149.5 team points, Middleton in second with 95 points, and McCall-Donnelly in third with 91 points.  
 Weiser varsity girl’s track team ended the meet in sixth with 41 team points.
 For the Weiser boys track team, they placed seventh with 45.5 points. First for boys was Melba with 96 points, Emmett came in second with 77 points, and Gooding rounded out the top three with 70.5 points.
 Sophomore Brayden Walker took third in the 800 meters at 2:08.76, a personal record for him.
 In the 300-meter hurdles Brayden Walker came in second for Weiser with another personal record of 42.28 seconds.
 The team of Brayden Walker, Brian Munoz, Michael Youngberg, and Colton Foster came in third place for the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:45.98.
 Weiser was fifth in the sprint medley relay with a time of 4:13.43. Mason Grimaldo, Levi Swank, Kasey Kautz and Edgar Lazaro ran the relay for Weiser.
 Senior Nick Swank finished fifth in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet 10 inches.
 In pole vault, third place went to Gabriel Rasmussen at 10 feet. Jordan Watkins took sixth in the long jump with a jump of 19 feet 4.5 inches.
 Emily Christopherson Ashlyn Walker, Alyssa Olvera, and Reagan Doty placed sixth in the 4x100 relay. Their time was 55.50 seconds.
 A time of 1:58.43 gave the Wolverines fifth place in the 4x200 relay. Running for Weiser was Emily Christopherson, Shae Kunz, Reagan Doty and Shelby Aldrich.
 In the 4x400 relay Alyssa Olvera, Sarah Sotelo, Emri Kunz and Mattie Shirts ended in fifth place with a time of 4:41.89.
 Weiser varsity girls were fourth in the sprint medley relay. Emily Christopherson, Shae Kunz, Alyssa Olvera, and Mattie Shirts ran the race in 2:06.44.
 The Wolverines had one girl in the top ten for shot put. Melissa Sandoval at 31 feet 4.5 inches came in third.
 Weiser took fifth and sixth in the girls high jump. Mattie Shirts came in fifth with a jump of 4 feet 6 inches and Shelby Aldrich was sixth with 4 feet 4 inches.
 Shae Kunz was third in the pole vault with a height of 7 feet 6 inches. Sarah Sotelo came in sixth at 7 feet, which was a personal record.
 Mattie Shirts took fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 30 feet 11.25 inches.
