Weiser’s new clothing store specializes in western fashion with a modern edge

Sami Jo Harberd first began Ace’s Arrow in February of 2017. What started as an idea for an online brand, quickly grew to a fast growing boutique and after three years of online sales and trade show sales, Harberd now plans to open the first Ace’s Arrow store front store in Weiser
Harberd has always had a passion for putting unique outfits together. That passion grew more and more to where she knew she had something special. As she realized she needed to share her unique styles and outfit ideas with others, to help inspire women to dress (and think) outside the box, the idea for starting a business where she would do just that grew.
Before starting Ace’s Arrow Boutique, Harberd was a full time hairstylist. One of the biggest drives to start a boutique was the flexibility to set her own schedule and work both jobs. Over the past few years, however, Harberd’s career as a stylist has taken a back burner to running the fast-growing boutique.
As the boutique has grown, so has the demand for a space for inventory. One of the specialties at Ace’s Arrow is high quality hats, and many of Harberd’s customers showed interest in feeling the quality of the hats and trying them on in person.
Harberd decided to create a home for Ace’s Arrow outside their home where her products could be displayed beautifully and her customers would find their happy place for shopping in person.
Harberd’s husband Chase is originally from Weiser, and the couple recently moved back here to be closer to his job. Harberd is ecstatic to be opening her first brick and mortar store here in Weiser.
“I have always loved this little town with its quaint charm and welcoming hospitality,” Harberd said.
Harberd describes her own style and the style of the store exactly the same: western fashion with a modern edge –  bold,  classic, fearlessly unique.
“The western woman is the last of a dying breed. I want to keep her alive and thriving through timeless statement pieces that will never go out of style,” Harberd said.
Harberd shared that her customer is western woman who is humbled and grounded, proud of her roots and her heritage, and has no fear of standing outside the crowd. Everywhere she goes, she tells a story of who she is and what she represents, through her wardrobe.
“She’s the girl who can spend all day in the branding trap roping right alongside the boys, but isn’t afraid to throw on her heels and turquoise for a night out on the town. She is both ends of the spectrum, from stylish to western. She is the modern west,” Harberd said.
Harberd is also ecstatic to be able to have a studio salon in the back of Ace’s Arrow Boutique, where she will be working more hours behind the chair again.
“The beautiful thing about both of my careers is their common denominator, to make other women feel and look their best, and help women shine their beauty from the outside, in,” Harberd said.
Ace’s Arrow will be located right in the heart of downtown Weiser,  at 46 W. Main Street. The grand opening is set for Sept. 12 from  6 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be a taco truck on hand,  live acoustic music, and door prizes and specials for the event.
