Weiser’s girl’s singles and boy’s and girl’s doubles teams have successful week

The Weiser High School tennis team played two matches last week. On Monday Weiser traveled to Columbia High School and Tuesday they hosted SRV conference rivals the Fruitland Grizzlies.
 To shorten the Columbia game the format of play was one game to eight points.
 Emma Tolman playing in the number one singles position beat her Columbia High School opponent 8-0. Her match against Fruitland went to two sets of 6-3 and 6-0.
 Number 2 singles player Kristy Bake also went undefeated beating her Columbia opponent 8-1 and Fruitland 7-6, 6-0.
 The number one boy’s doubles team of Ethan Davis and Charlie Woods had close matches. They beat Columbia 9-7 and went on to defeat Fruitland’s Alex Hanigan and Miles Davis. They won the first set 6-2, lost the second 2-6 and won the third 10-8.
 Britynn Seward and Bailey Coleman defeated their Columbia opponents 8-2 and beat Fruitland 6-4, 6-3.
 The number two mixed doubles team of Brylee Williams and Mason Davis beat Columbia 9-7.
 Columbia beat Weiser with a team score of 7 to 5 and Fruitland also came out on top with a score of 8-4.

 No. 1 - Grace Huff and Trey Buster, Fruitland defeated Kendall Rynearson and Huntyr McClellan, Weiser, 6-1 , 6-3; No. 2 - Janice Roundy and Aidan Huhtala, Fruitland defeated Libbie Rynearson and Elias Anderson, Weiser, 6-3 , 6-0.
 “Ethan Davis and Charlie Woods played a good match against a solid Fruitland boys doubles team.  We’ve been very impressed with Ethan’s game this year. He has worked hard during his high school career to get to his level of play and we’re excited about his season. Charlie is young, tall, and has tons of potential.  We are really happy with the girls doubles teams. Everyone is ready for a bit less wind,” said  head coach Angie Soulen.
