Upper Country Singers could use a few more voices for holiday concert

The Upper Country Singers are looking for a few more committed singers for this year’s Christmas concert in December.
Choir director Debbie Warren said the ideal number of singers for the choir is about 10 short of that number right now.
The annual concert has become a major event hosting over 350 people each year to kick off the Christmas season.
 Time is of the essence,
Warren said, for anyone who would like to join. Folks need to join as soon as possible to learn the music.
The Upper Country Singers rehearse each Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the Midvale School multi-purpose room.
All past members of the choir are welcome as well as anyone who would like to commit to singing with the choir.
There are no auditions and no prior choir experience is required. Only a love of music and a desire to be part of this community group is needed.
The Christmas concert will be Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. at the Cambridge Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.  The theme this year is "Ah! Sweet Christmas", with such selections as "Candy Cane Lane" and "Sweet Little Jesus Boy".
The choir charges no admission for the holiday concert, although donations are accepted so the choir can buy music for next year and cover the cost of equipment rentals.
Warren has directed the Upper Country Singers since 2009. The choir has been performing a Christmas concert for at least the past 15 years.
Singers come from all over, including Weiser, Midvale, Indian Valley and Council.
Feel free to contact Debbie Warren at (208) 866-7583 for more information.
The Upper Country Kids Choir will also perform again this year.
Rehearsals for the Kids Choir are held each Monday at 4:30 p.m. at the Midvale Baptist Church under the direction of Laurel Sherman.
Kids of all ages are welcome. If you have questions, you can text Laurel at (208) 550-2675.
