Top scorers earn checks at Weiser Valley Round-Up

Cowboys and cowgirls competed for nearly $13,700 in prize money at the Weiser Valley Round-Up, a pro rodeo sanctioned by the Idaho Cowboys Association.
 The biggest purse in any single event was $2,470 paid to the top six finishers with the fastest times in barrel racing.
 This year’s Round-Up was held over three nights (July 11-13) at Fred Hust Arena in Weiser. It was the 75th anniversary of the event.
 The follow are the winners, their scores or times and the take-home pay.
 Bareback bronc: 1st Brody Smith (score of 76, $336.30+$126.11 GM), 2nd Tyler Smith (score of 74, $252.23+$126.11 GM).
 Tie-down roping: 1st Auggie Robinson (8.9 seconds, $748.13), 2nd Zane Taylor (9.2 seconds, $577.13), 3rd Kurtis Barry (10.7 seconds, $406.13), 4th Nick Chappell (10.8 seconds, $256.50), 5th Britton Bedke (11 seconds, $149.63).
 Break-away roping: 1st Jett Parke (2.1 seconds, $674.98), 2nd Jazz Brunson (2.2 seconds, $558.60), 3rd Katie Jo McFarlane (2.5 seconds, $442.23), tie for 4th between Lindsey Taylor and Amanda Hodges. Each posted a time of 2.6 seconds and each won $267.66.
 Saddle bronc riding: 1st Dakota Munns (score of 73, $419.90), 2nd Nathan Duckworth (score of 71, $314.93), 3rd Luke McKay (score of 69, $204.95), 4th place was a tie between Zalin Arritola and Jaret Angel, who both scored a 63 and each won $52.49.
 Steer wrestling: 1st Andy Weldon (4.7 seconds, $627), 2nd Brandon MacKenzie (5.9 seconds, $470.29), 3rd Tanner Stanger (6.6 seconds, $313.50), 4th Hazen Smith (6.8 seconds, $156.75).
 Team roping: 1st Scott McCulloch/Matt Azavedo (4.8 seconds, $756.20), 2nd Ryan Readmond/Zalin Arritolia (4.9 seconds, $567.15), 3rd Jared McFarlane/Jaylen Eldridge (5.4 seconds, $378.10), 4th place Kirby Cook/Kelsey Cook (5.9 seconds, $189.05).
 Barrel racing: 1st Tahnee Fornstrom (17.39 seconds, $716.30), 2nd Shelbie Allen (17.61 seconds, $592.80), 3rd Katie Sharpe (17.73 seconds, $469.30), 4th Angie Koyle (17.82 seconds, $345.80), 5th Sabra Wright (17.83, $222.30), 6th Payton James (17.85 seconds, $123.50).
 Ranch bronc: 1st tie between Justin Quint and JD Gould. Both scored 68 points for their ride and each received $315.40. Third place went to Tegan Nevaraz, who earned a score of 62 and took home $1576.70.
 Bull riding: No rides.
 The following are the results of the novice events.
 Bareback: 1st Hauston Roth (52 points, $140).
 Saddle bronc: 1st Cole Biggers (53 points, $96 + $64 GM).
 Bull riding: 1st Bryan Green (61 points, $175 + $325 GM).
