Stop by senior center for the free Christmas dinner

Once again the Citizens on Patrol are hosting a free Christmas dinner to all who might have no where to go for Christmas, or maybe just want to join in the fellowship of others.
Donations are accepted and help them to keep giving the community this wonderful meal. Remember also that they need volunteers to help in their efforts to keep our community safe.
Once again a delicious breakfast was served on Dec. 1 and January’s will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Gem State Fiddlers will be entertaining once again.
The senior center Christmas lunch will be held on Dec. 21, with all the trimmings. Cost is only $6 for a great meal. All ages are welcome. The center will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24.
Our dance on Dec. 8 was fun and the music was great. Please come and join us at the next one on Jan. 12, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wow, 2019 already. It doesn’t seem possible to me.
On Dec. 9, the Gem State Fiddlers had a Christmas party here at the senior/community center, with a potluck, music, drawings and even some dancing.  Quite an experience.
Attention: There will be no foot clinic in January!
Remember we have bingo every Monday night but we won’t on Christmas Eve.
The pool room has two tables for lots of fun. Come join the guys and gals for rousing games of pool Monday through Friday. Pinochle is every Thursday at 1 p.m.
On a personal note, I attended the Festival of Trees Gala on Dec. 28, and as I had never attended before, it was quite the experience. The trees were beautiful, and were auctioned off with all proceeds going to our hospital for a high tech CT scanner.
Friends of the Hospital tree, which I had the honor of helping, Sabrina Young, Terri Fritts, Margie Anderson, and Marilyn Ulmer in decorating, went for $1,000. It was wonderful to be able to help in such a worthy cause.
Remember the reason for the season, and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hugz to you all!
