Lady Wolverines host first golf match of the season

The Weiser Lady Wolverine varsity golfers hosted an invite tournament on Wednesday, March 17. The weather was calm and sunny making for a great day to be on the course.
 Weiser’s young team played with poise and confidence. This was the first ever tournament for three of the five Wolverines.  
 Jasi Yraguen led Weiser with a 55, Gabi Palmer had a 57,  Paige Johnson 64, Elle Svedin 68, and Isabel Rodriguez 69. Gabi is Weiser’s lone senior, Elle a junior, Jasi, Paige, and Isabel are all sophomores.
 Cole Valley had the overall lowest score of 184, taking home the team win. Two Cole Valley girls also placed as individual medalist, Grace Singpraseuth second with a 41 and Sophie Huff third with a 42.
 Nampa Christian took home second with a 193. Brianna Shervick of Nampa Christian was the first place medalist of the day with a 39.
 Liberty Charter finished in third place with 237 and Weiser in fourth with 244.
 Coach Jon Lundberg said, “It’s a great day to be a Wolverine. Great kids, great weather, and a great place to start.”
 The Wolverines will start Snake River Valley district play on Monday, March 29 at Scotch Pines in Payette.
