High school choir to sing at Veterans Day ceremony

The Gem State Fiddlers played during lunch on the first Wednesday of the month and will continue to do so on the first Wednesday of every month.
Our harvest dance and potluck on Oct. 13 was really great, and we all had so much fun and food. I do wish I could see some of you there this coming month.
We did have some newbies, and they said they had a wonderful time and would be back again. Yes, any age is welcome.
The Quilt of Valor, held on Oct. 26, honored Steve Scrivner, a U.S. Army Spec 4. He served from 1969 to 1971. The quilt was made by Judy Scott and her Tuesday Sew group.
Look out for November. It will be a busy, busy month.
First comes the monthly breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 3, serving pancakes and all the rest, with the Gem State fiddlers playing for us. They will do so each month.
The foot clinic will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
A Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 9. We will be honoring four veterans this time. Jim Grunke will be leading the ceremony and the Weiser High School Choir will sing.
The dance follows on its footsteps on Saturday, Nov. 10.
The Gem State Fiddlers have their jam sessions on the second and fourth Thursday of the month. However, for the months of November and December they will only be playing on the second Thursday because of conflicts with the holidays. Then we have Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 22.
Remember, we have breakfast on the first Saturday of the month, foot clinic on the second Wednesday of every month, bingo every Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and pinochle every Thursday at 1 p.m. Also, the center has two pool tables for playing every day.
Come eat and play. We welcome all. We are striving to be a center for the whole community. Remember, those that want friends have to be a friend.
