Elsie Mae Loos

Elsie Mae Loos went to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 29, 2023. She was a life-long Christian who enjoyed singing in her brother’s church with her sisters.

 Mae was born in Missouri on July 13, 1941 to Otis and Gustdel Woods. The family later moved to Arkansas where they all worked in the cotton fields.

 Mae married at 15 and had a little boy named Ricky who passed away at three months old. Mae and her husband moved to Woodland, Calif. where two more children were born Anita and Danny.

 Later Mae and children moved to Oregon where she worked various jobs before accepting employment at Textronix, she was hired by a young Don Loos. Before long they found themselves falling in love.

 They were married on Dec. 23, 1970. Until then Don had been her Boss (somehow that shifted) he has always maintained that he was no longer Boss. Mae and Don worked side by side for 52 years in construction. Then Mae became sick. They knew they could fix almost anything but they couldn’t fix her illness. 

 Mae had a long and full life. She was very involved in the Elks for many years including being president of Lady Elks for two years. She loved her flowers, playing golf, tennis, softball, camping, fishing and being outdoors, also her winters spent in Arizona with her many friends.

 Mae is preceded in death by her parents, infant son Ricky, four brothers Gene Woods, Lloyd Woods, Robert Woods, Dale Woods, three sisters Louise, Bell and June, two grandsons, Grady Loos and Robbie Welch.

 Mae is survived by her husband Don Loos, three sisters Della Fortner, Linda McMinn, Sue French, one brother Johnny Woods, six children Anita (John) Goodman, Dan (Tina) Boswell, Don (Cindy) Loos, David (Anna) Loos, Dan (Kelly) Loos, Patti Lance, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
