Downtown Weiser will be Spooktacular for Halloween

Weiser is a great town for things to do on Halloween. 

 From traditional door to door trick or treating or trunk or treating, to the annual Halloween carnival, to a tradition of excellent and possibly truly haunted houses, Weiser is sure to provide a variety of memorable ways to celebrate.  

 This year, the tradition is growing and moving all downtown to centralize the fun with the first annual Weiser Spooktacular. 

 Halloween night, downtown Weiser will be the place to be starting at 4 p.m. 

 Put on your costumes and bring your kids down for trick or treating at the downtown businesses from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Weiser Chamber of Commerce is providing a map of participating businesses. 

 Then starting at 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., a portion of State Street downtown will be blocked-off for a whole street full of trunk-or-treating. 

 Not only will there be great trunk or treating fun, there will also be a contest for the three best decorated trunks. 

 At 7:45 p.m., downtown Weiser will become a giant flashmob. Everyone is invited to come dance to “Thriller.” 

 This event is sponsored by Dance Extreme 2.0, and interested participants can check out the Facebook page for instructional videos. 

 From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. there will also be a autumn fair and Farmers Market at the train depot. Look for traditional harvest festival fun from apple bobbing to pumpkin carving contests. 

 Weiser is famous for its Halloween carnival. This year that tradition continues and will start right at 7 p.m.

 The big new event for the Spooktacular this year will be happening in the haunted Star theatre. Dare if you will, enter the historic haunted Star Theatre.  

 For just $5, you can see one of the most authentic haunted houses in Idaho. The Illustrious Onionskin Players have been preparing a fantastic show that will be happening on Oct. 26-27 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with the final tour on Oct. 31 from 8 p.m. to midnight.  It’s sure to be Weiser’s best haunted house yet.
