As part of this weekend’s downtown Harvest Festival a chili cook-off on Saturday has already drawn as many as 15 contestants, and there’s room for more. Just show up Saturday morning.
“Contestants will bring their own tasting containers and utensils, but will keep all of the money votes they receive in their tip jars,” event organizer Patrick Nauman said. “There’s no entry fee.”
“The contest will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and each contestant will have a tip jar where votes will go,” Nauman said. “Whoever has the most money at the end will also receive a $100 cash prize and a traveling trophy, sponsored by Idaho Custom Designs.”
Nauman said as of early this week there are around 56 vendors lined up for the two-day event.
“The vendors will take up both blocks of State Street between Main and Commercial, and the chili contest and Kids’ Zone will span the block from Court to Main streets,” Nauman said. “The Kids’ Zone will include bounce houses, snow cones, cotton candy, face painting, and cornhole games.”
