Cascade Ramblers sink Titans 63-42

On Jan. 5 the Tri-Valley fans took up their first dogwatch (a short evening period of watch duty on a ship) of 2019 in Cascade as the Titans set sail on the sea of competition against the Ramblers.  Both teams held the course in the first quarter with 12 points for the Titans and 15 for the Ramblers.
But the second quarter left the Titans windbound as their offense was hindered by contrary waves of scoring from the Ramblers who seemingly couldn’t miss at the three-point line.
Cascade outscored Tri-Valley 21-7 as both crews left for the locker rooms at halftime with a score of 19 for the Titans and 36 for the Ramblers.
Fighting the waves, the Titans tried to climb out of the watery depths in the third and fourth quarters by tightening up the defense with their trap and jump press that caused the Ramblers to commit 15 of their total 20 turnovers while only committing three of their total eight.
But the damage of the second quarter was too difficult to repair and Tri-Valley lost to Cascade 63-42 when they finally dropped anchor.
High scoring crew members for the Titans were Orion Southwick with 11 points, Ty Barnett with nine points, and Michael Barnett with eight points. Crew members with the most rebounds were Orion Southwick with 10 rebounds and Cody Nixon with six rebounds.
“Hats off to the Cascade boys. They were well prepared, well coached, and executed on both ends of the floor,” Coach Morris said. “Tri-Valley travels to Salmon River and Council this week. Our boys have their first home game this Friday in Midvale against Liberty Charter, followed by Garden Valley on Saturday. We’d appreciate everyone’s support.”
