Bennie Ray Gardner

1936-2023
Bennie Ray Gardner, 86, of Weiser, Idaho, passed away on July 20, 2023.
Born on Sept. 21, 1936, in Clark, Missouri, Bennie was the beloved son of Leslie Ray Gardner and Ruby Wilson.
Bennie received his education at Weiser High School, where he graduated in 1955. He selflessly
served his country in the Army National Guard 116th Cavalry as a tank crew member, a cause that
held deep meaning for him.
Bennie married his high school sweetheart Donna Jean Parker in Weiser, Idaho on March 29, 1959. They remained happily married for 58 years until her passing in 2017.
Throughout his life, Bennie pursued a fulfilling career. He dedicated his time and expertise to various institutions and endeavors. He worked at Home Lumber and Coal in Weiser, Cecil Parker Sand and Gravel, and served as a skilled ranch hand. Bennie’s strong work ethic shone through his employment at Weiser Cooperative Association, D.B. Anderson Gas and Oil, and his short tenure as a long-haul truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his cherished wife, Donna Parker, his sisters, Mary Beth Morgan and Doris Gardner, and his beloved son, Michael Gardner.
Bennie leaves behind his loving son, Brian Gardner, his beloved daughter, Becky Moore; two grandkids, Chris Moore, and Tara Brotherton (Justin); and two great-grandchildren Maddie and Gus Brotherton.
Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and honor Bennie’s enduring legacy at a graveside service on Sept. 23 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
