Dear Editor,
Joe Friday from the TV show “Dragnet” said, “Facts, just the facts Sir.” This dates me I guess. Sometimes the simplest things, those that are followed by DAH! are the things we need to put together to find “common sense.” (And, whoever said sense was common?)
A saying that keeps going through my mind (a variation used by several thought provoking people like Mark Twain and Will Rogers) goes like this. “The trouble with most people is not that they don’t know much, but that they know so much that isn’t true.”
Dear Editor,
Dave and I moved to this part of Idaho over 35 years ago, looking for a place that didn’t have a freeway near it, lots of open sky and no city lights.
We have been saddened recently to see so many houses installing bright white lights either on their houses or in their yards that are left on constantly.
We’ve always assumed that anybody moving to the country is there for the
country life, which includes darkness.
On Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, Concordia LCMS, 402 E. Court St., Weiser, Idaho will celebrate The Lord’s Supper.
All are welcome to join our congregation of sinners in this Christian Sacrament. Please study 1 Corinthians chapter 11 in preparation. Pastor Christian Zimmerman presiding.
The Idaho Business for Education Board of Directors, which represents nearly 250 businesses across Idaho, has unanimously voted to lend its full support to our local government officials – mayors, city councils, county commissions, school leaders and health district members – who are doing all they can to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Dear Editor,
I am here to tell you that I am really glad that I always get to hear the news of Weiser from a local source. I am always wondering what is in the paper each week.
I am also glad to be able to help deliver the paper to others so they can learn about what is going on in Weiser.
I know how hard you work to get the paper out. Weiser would not be the same without you.

Dear Editor,
With unprecedented growth at our doorstep, our existing county land use rules are perhaps more relevant than ever and here’s why.
Contrary to what some are telling us, farmers and ranchers as well as every other landowner in our county, still have the right and ability to split their land.
Dear Editor
On Thanksgiving day the Clarys, Toby and Dana, and her mother Susan Slyter and helpers provided a really delicious turkey dinner with easy drive-up pickup or delivery from the Weiser Senior and Community Center.
The turkey was moist and the servings generous, just like my own cooking without the heavy lifting of the roasting pan from the oven, pie baking, and other preparations.
Made my day easy and enjoyable. Thank you all so much!

Dear Editor,
There comes a time in many of our lives when we either take or are given the responsibility of caring for a seriously or terminally ill family member. It is a hard job and unfortunately can be made harder by our confusing and fragmented health care system.
Fortunately, there is an incredible resource in our community that provides comfort, dignity, support, and respect to those coping with a serious or life-limiting illness and their families.
Editor:
We are writing this letter to express our endorsement of Lyndon Haines for District 1 Washington County Commissioner for 2020.
The information and the events in the past few months in our Washington County Board of Commissioners have been disturbing.
