Weiser is a great place to live, don’t let the negativity spoil the view

Dear Editor:
 In 1993 my wife and I and our four little children moved to Weiser, Idaho to take a position teaching and coaching at Weiser High School. We were both raised in small towns on the coast of California near the Oregon border.  
 We quickly were made to feel at home and loved the town motto of “We love our kids.” Our community was, and is, special for a lot of reasons. We have always looked out for each other, taken care of each other, mourned with each other and rejoiced with each other.  

Red and White Kick-off Dinner

 The second annual Weiser Athletic Boosters Red and White Kick-off Dinner will be held Thursday, May 30 at Sunnyside Farms, 1526 Sunnyside Road. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $35 per ticket with table sponsorships available. Weiser Community Pond clean-up to be held May 31

 Indianhead Fly Fishers along with the City of Weiser are hosting the annual Weiser Community Pond Clean-Up Friday, May 31. The event takes place the week before Idaho Fish and Game’s “Free Fish Day,” scheduled for Saturday, June 8. Weiser’s Pond Clean Up event will begin at about 9 a.m. and finish with a hot dog lunch around 12 p.m. (noon).

Historic Preservation Commissions to meet June 3

 The Washington County and City of Weiser Historic Preservation Commissions will meet jointly at 4 p.m. on June 3 in the courthouse basement Commissioners chambers.
